Rick was incredible. From start to finish he was incredibly helpful, concise, and professional. To provide some backstory: Our original officiant cancelled on us on very short notice - we reached out to Rick and explained our dilemma, luckily he was available on our date, and was able to officiate our ceremony. From there, we hit the ground running. He first provided us with incredible ceremony ideas and resources to find what message liked and wanted to convey, he took time to learn about my wife and I, how we met, our hobbies, likes/dislikes, etc... and not even a day later he provided us with a beautiful personalized message that we hardly needed to edit. He was available via phone, text, email, and responded quickly to our needs and questions. Come wedding day - we met Rick for the first time. Rick is kind, caring, and knows what he is doing and we felt completely comfortable listening to him give us direction. This was conveyed and felt by our guests as they approached us countless times through the night about how wonderful Rick was; his tone, his message, his demeanor, even the subtle move to the side of the bridge and groom at parts in order for the bridge and groom to get 1:1 shots under the arch (nice touch Rick!), and not to mention his noteworthy style with his unique Bow Tie. Overall, I am grateful that our original officiant cancelled on us from the beginning, because if it was not for that, we would not have had the experience and wonderful memory Rick gave my wife Jocelyn and I. Best of the best! We are so happy we found Rick and that he performed our wedding ceremony! If you are looking for a flexible, professional and personable wedding officiant, look no further! When we started the process of looking for an officiant, our first thought was to choose someone we knew. We wanted our wedding ceremony to be personal and intimate. We ended up deciding we wanted a professional (Rick) and that was the best decision we made. Rick felt like he was part of our family and told our story like he had known us our whole lives! Best wedding officiant ever! We found Rick through a recommendation from an established wedding coordinator in the Central Coast, she had told us that Rick was her absolute favorite officiant. We planned our ceremony with 72 hours notice when we found out my father only had a few months left to live. Rick kindly took us on, even with such little notice. Rick was lovely to communicate with and spent the time getting to know us and our love story. The ceremony was perfect. Rick was the perfect mix of funny and sentimental, our guests were laughing and crying throughout our ceremony. Thank you Rick for everything!

Incredible officiant for our tiny ceremony. My wife and I, having to delay a full wedding with our family and friends, decided to have private elopement ceremony that we still wanted to make feel like a real wedding. He worked with us for weeks in advance to help write the full ceremony script - he had great suggestions and a ton of experience to draw from. AMAZING OFFICIANT! As a couple who gets a touch of anxiety with public speaking (and chose to have a wedding of 150+ guests), Rick was hands down the best officiant we could have chosen to marry us (09/04/21)! We knew we had to go with him after watching him marry some of our close friends in our wedding party. He did an amazing job of telling "our story" and hit all the key elements we were looking for while adding in some lighthearted humor. Rick is the best! Our wedding planner referred us to Rick so we checked out his website and wow we were amazed. In all the videos we saw we loved the way he spoke, his tone of voice, and how awesome he dressed. What I didn't expect was when he started helping us plan our ceremony details, he went absolutely above and beyond with it. One thing that I LOVE that he did was ask us for "our story" from each of us separately. We each wrote our own version of our story without seeing each others and sent it to Rick. He took parts from both of our stories and meshed it into one. To make it a surprise, he read that story for the first time during the ceremony and it was so amazing. It made me laugh, cry, and remember some of the little details of our journey that I forgot. The planning process was easy and simple, he really sets you up for success with all of his resources. I cannot say enough about Rick and our experience with planning our ceremony. We live in Texas and originally were supposed to get married on July 6, 2020. Unfortunately, the county we were getting married in wasn't issuing marriage licenses to people outside of the state. Rick worked so hard, calling the courthouse and checking on availability of marriage licenses that he truly went above and beyond to help us just get to the wedding day. Once we got the date squared away, Rick guided us through the process of creating our perfect ceremony. Our consultation and subsequent email exchanges brought us to a ceremony that was meaningful to us as a couple, but also included our family in a significant way. Our family absolutely loved the ring warming ceremony, where we passed our wedding rings through the family to add a prayer or wish for us into the rings. This was such a touching moment and I am thankful that this was included into our special day. During the ceremony we not only laughed and cried, but we celebrated a long awaited union. When the ceremony was over, everyone asked me for a copy of the service, as it was, "the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended." Now, we might be biased, but I have to agree!!!!

All I can say is that Pastor Rick Comstock exceeded all expectations that we had when coordinating an officiant for our wedding. With 2 weeks notice during the COVID pandemic he was able to guide, assist, create, implement and facilitate an amazing ceremony that was tailored specifically to us. He had a short time to get to know us and in turn it felt like we had known him forever. He created a ceremony outline that was absolutely perfect and even had hints of humor along the way. “If you are looking for an officiant Rick Comstock is your guy! My original plan was to elope but then a few family members wanted to be there so we decided to plan something very tiny. We knew what day we wanted (June 10, 2018) and it was the beginning of May so we had 6 weeks to plan. One issue I found was some officiants didn’t work on Sunday’s. Well, that’s what we needed. I emailed him and he responded quickly. From the moment I contacted Rick we knew he was our guy. We then spoke over the telephone and after that my husband and I were sold! "WOW! I am so glad that we went with Rick Comstock at aVow Ceremonies for our wedding ceremony on Sunday May 20, 2018. I saw some friends this past weekend that were at our wedding and they asked me, "Was the officiant someone you knew personally?" I responded that we didn't know Rick until I found him on Wedding Wire, why? They said "Because he put so much heart into the ceremony and his message, we thought he was a good friend of yours!" It couldn't be more true. When researching who would marry us we knew we wanted someone professional, someone that could deliver a message that would resonate with us and our guests. When I saw a video on his website the "Blessing of the Hands" I was in tears and knew we found our officiant. My first conversation I had with Rick I felt like I was chatting with an old friend. Rick is professional and really gets to know you as a couple and what you want out of your wedding ceremony. He put extra time and energy into getting to know us & finding out what we wanted and realizing our vision for our most special day. He provided us so many examples of his amazing work which really helped us get started on creating what we really liked and wanted to include our ceremony. Together we created such an incredible and heartfelt ceremony, it was so much FUN!!! He asked my husband and I to individually send him our versions of our love story and then he revealed his “twitter version” at our ceremony as a surprise to us as well as our guests. It was so awesome we loved it and laughed so much! It was so fun, unique and unexpected for all of us to hear it for the first time together! He was punctual and very organized at the ceremony rehearsal and made us feel so calm and confident for the day of. Man oh man did he exceed our expectations!!! Our ceremony was the absolute most beautiful ceremony ever!! Along with our family and friends we were so very impressed by what a great job he did. They could not stop praising what a delightful time they had. He really took the time to chat and get to know our families. I won’t reveal all of his secrets of the trade but he added some remarkable and innovative elements that made our ceremony unforgettable and kept our guests engaged. This guy knows how to speak!!! He is the master of his craft and will make you feel like you are the only couple he is working with. He is at the top of his profession and made himself available to assist our bridal party with their speeches. We would unquestionably recommend Rick to all of our friends and family and anyone who is looking for a hassle free and unforgettable ceremony!!
